Paul Oz
In 2005 when Paul was browsing galleries for something bright to adorn the walls of his new flat he started thinking ‘I could do that…’ and he began experimenting with acrylics to create paintings he wanted to buy! Then being made redundant from the London software firm in early in 2010 led to his decision to take the leap and become a full-time artist - the best thing to have ever happened!
In his own words, Paul is ‘not a textbook artist’ – he strives for visual impact, to capture characters in a unique way that blows your socks off and evokes a powerful response. It’s a mixture of explosive energy, movement, expression and the maximum in 3D effect – several techniques combining for the end result.
“The beauty of creating portraits is that each one could mean absolutely everything or nothing at all to you...but everyone has an idol, mentor, someone they’re a massive fan of or indeed love and it is an absolute honour to be asked to immortalise them in paint.”
